Since 1991 the Maag Toy Foundation (MTF) has been on a quest to bring smiles, laughter and a small break to kids who could really use it. And with the help and generosity of folks just like you we have been succeeding. We have raised more than $500,000 and distributed more than 7,000 toys to kids who don't have a lot to smile about. You can help again…tots, teens and babies who are victims of circumstance, and far less well off than our own offspring can use your support. They face tough challenges for sure, and we probably can't change their lives. What we can do is supply a toy, game, book or movie to lighten up their world and, for a little while, and make them forget the issues that weigh them down. This is where we (and you) come in. By bringing a toy and possibly an item to donate for auction, you really can make a difference. Donations, sponsorships, auctions and toys are the only way we generate profits for the kids. We make very little money from the golf, food or beverage fees, and none of us has ever taken a salary. But we can't do it alone and we need your help.
We are now enjoying our 20th year in Illinois and 10th in AZ . Last year donations were made to the Crisis Nursery, Hesed House, Casa Esperanza, Blind Children’s Foundation, Hinsdale Wellness, Angel Tree, Cornerstone Community, Mercy Home for Boys and Girls, Toys for Tots, Bridging Arizona, Bikes for Kids, Bickley and MJ's Turkey Drive, Blankets for Babies, East Valley Child Crisis Center. We also helped over 4 dozen individual families (some who work at Avnet), who experienced a variety of troubles and were not receiving assistance from any other group. And we love helping teens experience events we took for granted…MDA Summer Camp, Prom night program, Halloween costumes, Fans Across America events, VetTIX tickets for military families, and approx 100 teens went to see the Cardinals, Harlem Globetrotters, D Backs, Cubs and Coyotes games to name a few.
We are also sending children to school and helped a community dig a well in Africa . It's extremely gratifying to now be able to add education to the list of things we are able to give kids thanks to you. And the number of children and teens we are able to help just keeps growing.
Take it from us, outings are a wonderful way to help the little ones in need. So by join us to play golf or just come for dinner. Actually, about 50 % of our attendees just come for the reception/program. So bring a toy…your investment will pay off in camaraderie, networking, and laughter. You'll also be making a difference in the life of a child and that's worth celebrating like an anniversary.
We thank Avnet for hosting our event again, and hope to see you there.
